Licensing Target
The licensing target is the software application which uses a license for regular operation during the term of the license.
The CODESYS Development System on a workstation PC for the use of specific add-ons (for example, CODESYS Git)
A CODESYS runtime system on a controller (for example, CODESYS Control for Linux SL)
Important
A licensing target must not be confused with a License Container, which describes where the license is located.
The licensing target can involve different systems, for example when using Network Licenses (License Server).
Programming system
You will find information about how to activate a license for the programming system in the How To: Activate a license on a workstation section.
