Network Licenses (License Server)

A CodeMeter Runtime Service (CmRuntime) can be configured as a license server. In this configuration, CmRuntime makes its licenses available to all devices on the network.

To ensure exclusive use of a license on the license server, each license must be explicitly assigned or released by the device on the network. A license is automatically released after a specific time when the licensee has not performed a new license request within this time (keep alive).

Architecture

In the architecture overview, a distinction is made between browser access and the actual license usage of the software. Licenses can be queried and the license server can be configured in the browser.
