Library: PLCopen Safety FBs
Identification of the library described here: PLCopen Safety FBs, 3.5.18.0
Basis: PLCopen TC5: "Safety Software, Part 1: Concepts and Function Blocks", Version 2.01, February 25, 2020
The PLCopen function blocks (prefixed with SF_) have been defined by the PLCopen organization together with its members and external organizations dealing with safety-related aspects. These function blocks are certified and as a result reduce the time and costs in the development, verification, and acceptance of a safety application. Similar to a logical wiring, the blocks can be linked to each other by logical operations. Thus, important components of a safety application can be created quickly and without much programming effort.
For information describing the individual PLCopen FBs in more detail, see the PLCopen "Technical Committee 5 – Safety Software" specification version which is current at the time of certification.
Important
When using PLCopen function blocks, the user has to make sure that in the application the function block is called at least one time in each cycle.
