Safety Performance

Requirements

Configuration

Procedure. For optimal functionality, the following is recommended:
  1. Use a dedicated network connection between the two Linux Host PCs. To do this ideally, connect the Linux Host PC directly to Linux Host PC 2, each using a separate network adapter. The time provider will send cyclical time telegrams via this connection. The CODESYS Safe Controll SL requires these telegrams for secure operation.

  2. In the configuration of CODESYS Safe Controll SL, do not set the CPU 0 on the Linux Host PC because most of the housekeeping of the operating system is done there.

Ideally, configure a CPU which is not yet explicitly used for the fieldbus – for example EtherCAT. In combination with the required optimizations, CPU 2 makes sense, for example.

  3. In the configuration of the time provider on Linux Host PC 2, set a suitable CPU – for example CPU 1.
