Updating the Project and Boot Application on the Server and PLC
Requirements:
The CODESYS project already exists on the CODESYS Automation Server, and the corresponding project has been changed afterwards in CODESYS.
Tip
If the message appears in CODESYS that the open project has a deprecated CAS memory format, then the project has to be uploaded again to the Automation Server, or updated with the command.
Open the changed project in CODESYS.
In CODESYS, click .
The Commit to Server dialog opens.
In the Commit Message field, specify a commit message, and click OK.
This version of the project, the project archive, and the boot applications will be uploaded to the server.
The successful transfer to the server is reported in the messages view.
Sign in to your Automation Server.
The update performed in Steps 2 and 3 of these instructions is displayed in the
view for the respective project.In the displayed menu, click
.The List View window opens.
Select the tile view
and click the
button (Details) for the corresponding PLC.
The PLC Details view opens.
Select the Configuration tab.
In the Synchronization group, select the Synchronize applications option and click the Save Configuration button.
Note: If this option is not selected, then the update described in the following steps cannot be performed successfully on the PLC.
The successful transfer to the server is reported in the messages view.
To update the application on the PLCs, in the Application view, open the Deployment tab.
view, click the desired application. Then, in theSelect the Deploy option for the PLCs and click the Apply Changes button. In the next dialog, confirm that the change should actually be made.
Now when you click the
button in the PLC Details view ( ), the application is displayed which was just transferred to the PLC.
