Updating a Project in CODESYS

. Requirements:

  • The CODESYS Development System is connected to the Automation Server.

  • A project is open in CODESYS.

  • A newer version of the project open in CODESYS exists on the CODESYS Automation Server.

Procedure. Updating the entire project in CODESYS with the version of the project on the Automation Server

  1. In CODESYS, click Project → Automation Server → Update from Server.

    The Select the version to upgrade dialog opens.

  2. In the Automation Server area, select the desired version of the project on the CODESYS Automation Server Automation Server, and click OK.

    The version of the project on the Automation Server is loaded to the CODESYS Development System.

    The project is open.

Procedure. Updating parts of the project in CODESYS with the latest version of the project on the Automation Server

  1. In CODESYS, click Project → Automation Server → Synchronize.

    A dialog prompt asks whether or not the changes should be compared before the project in CODESYS is updated.

  2. Click Yes for this dialog prompt.

    The Compare with Server dialog opens.

    The latest version of the project on the Automation Server is selected.

  3. Click OK to confirm the dialog.

  4. The Project Compare – Differences view opens in CODESYS.

    On the left side, the project currently open in CODESYS is displayed. On the right side, the current status of the project on the server is displayed.

  5. Select the changes that you want to apply to the open project in CODESYS and click Accept Single for each one.

  6. Then close the view and confirm in the dialog to accept the changes.

    The changes are applied to the project open in CODESYS.

    The project in CODESYS has been updated.
