License Extensions
A license extension is applied to a license which already exists on the device. A distinction is made between a license upgrade and a license renewal.
License upgrade
A license upgrade is available for application-based licenses only. An overview of all application-based licenses can be found in the CODESYS Store.
If your application has grown in size or you need an additional fieldbus, then the license on your device may no longer be sufficient. In this case, you need a larger class. By purchasing a license upgrade, you can extend your existing license and continue using it.
Purchasing a license upgrade
To purchase a license upgrade, an account in CODESYS Store International is required. If you do not yet have an account, then you can register in the customer login area.
After logging in, you will see the various bundle options or upgrades. When upgrading to a higher license, you always need to specify the license which already exists on your device.
After selecting the desired license, the price difference is calculated as compared to the existing license.
Activating a license upgrade
The license is activated either in the License Manager or in the WebDepot. During the activation process, the system checks whether or not the specified license exists on the device. License activation is possible only after this operation has completed.
After the license upgrade is activated, only the new license will be on the device. The old license will be removed from the device.
License renewal (duration)
A license renewal is a subscription. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled intentionally. The cancellation must be done at least 30 days before the license renewal date, otherwise the subscription will be renewed for an additional year.

Note that you will need to reactivate the respective ticket so that you can continue using all functions.
