Command: Create Setup Configuration File

Function: The command opens the Create Setup Configuration File wizard. The wizard is used to create or edit an ISetup installation configuration file.

The configuration file is a text file with the extension *.installation-config. It defines which add-on versions are available in a specific CODESYS installation. If it is required to select an installation in the CODESYS Installer, then a setup configuration file can also be loaded from the file system as an alternative to directly selecting it within the Installer.

Call:

  • Case 1: The configuration file should be created for a new setup:

Installations menu, the Add Installation view, _inst_icon_selection_down_arrow.png button, selection menu

  • Case 2: The configuration file should be created for an existing setup or installation:

In the tile of an existing installation, menu under the _inst_button_dots.png button.

Note

A setup configuration file is also created with the Export Configuration command which is available when you modify an existing installation. For more information, see the following: Change.

Wizard Create Setup Configuration File:

  1. Dialog: Configure Your Setup: Here you select the setup (installation) for which you want to create a configuration file. To define the underlying CODESYS with the information of Platform, Setup, and Version, you could alternatively import an existing configuration file from the file system. To do this, use the Load From File button.

When you call the wizard directly from an existing installation tile, this step is omitted.

  2. Dialog: Configure Your Add-Ons: Here you can select the add-on versions which should be included in the CODESYS setup. All available add-ons and their respective versions are displayed in the left window. With the _inst_img_addon_filter.png button, you can sort the selection list by categories (for example, Example or Security). In the search field next to the _icon_search.png symbol, you can use a string to filter by add-on name. The _icon_arrow_in_circle_up.png _icon_arrow_in_circle_down.png buttons are used to sort the list alphabetically.

The current selection of add-on versions is displayed in the Preview window.

At any time, you can use the Resolve References button to check that this selection fulfills all existing dependencies between the add-on installations. This check is also performed when you click the Next button. If dependencies are not fulfilled, then you will get detailed information and you can modify the selection accordingly.

  3. Dialog: Confirmation Required The current configuration of the setup is displayed and you can confirm it with the Create button. The dialog opens for saving the new installation configuration file *.installation-config in the local file system. You can save the file and load it back into the CODESYS Installer at a later time at the points where a setup needs to be selected.
