Exchanging an Edge Gateway
The CODESYS Automation Server Connector package is installed on your computer in the CODESYS Development System and CODESYS has been restarted.
The CODESYS Development System is open.
You have downloaded the CODESYS Edge Gateway from the CODESYS Store International and installed it on your computer or on a standalone target. Windows and Linux are the possible operating systems.
This gateway is running.
You have created a secure environment for the new Edge Gateway and the configuration mode is enabled. For a description of this, see the guide "Creating an Edge Gateway on the Server and Entering PLCs" in Steps 1 to 3.
In CODESYS, click .
The Connect or Reconfigure Edge Gateways view opens.
In the Edge Gateway group, in the Gateway hostname / IP field, click the list box arrow and select the gateway that should be configured as the Edge Gateway. The list box contains that gateways that are already configured in CODESYS.
The Gateway port is displayed automatically.
As an alternative to the previous step, you could also manually specify Gateway hostname / IP and Gateway port.
If you have manually specified the data, then you have to click the Check / Refresh Gateway Information button for the initial display of the Edge Gateway data (for example, whether or not the configuration data is set). As an alternative, you could also press the Enter key in one of the two fields.
If the Configuration mode is displayed as disabled, then click the Check / Refresh Gateway Information button.
If the configuration mode is still not enabled despite this, then recheck Steps 1 to 3 performed in the guide "Creating an Edge Gateway on the Server and Entering PLCs".
In the CODESYS Automation Server Connector group, in Server URL, specify the URL of the Automation Server.
The Automation Server – Sign In dialog opens in CODESYS for you to sign in to the CODESYS Automation Server.
You have specified the Server URL in the Connect or Reconfigure Edge Gateways view. You can no longer change it in this step.
Type in the User name and Password. Click OK.
In Known Edge Gateways on server, the Edge Gateways are displayed that are registered on the Automation Server.
Select the Edge Gateway that should be exchanged.
The Replace Existing Edge Gateway button is enabled.
Click Replace Existing Edge Gateway.
The Certificate state for the Edge Gateway and the Automation Server is refreshed and displays a valid certificate.
The Certificate thumbprint is also refreshed and displays identical values for the Edge Gateway and the Automation Server.
The certificate thumbprint is visible when the Show details option is selected.
Now the Show Edge Gateway on Server command and sign in to the Automation Server.
view opens when you double-click theThe new gateway is shown and is identified by a solid green circle (which means that it is currently running).
When you click the
button for the new Edge Gateway, the Gateway Configuration dialog opens and you see that the certificate thumbprint there corresponds to this Edge Gateway displayed in CODESYS in the Connect or Reconfigure Edge Gateways.
