Creating a Data Analyzer Project

Data Analyzer projects can be used to conveniently and still easily monitor, operate, and analyze machines and plant PLCs remotely from anywhere in the world by means of cloud technology. The Data Analyzer is an integration by AnyViz into CODESYS Automation Server. This combines the simplicity of device management with the intuitive creation of projects for long-term recording of PLC data, as well as the display and change of live values.

Use cases of the Data Analyzer

  • Visualization of real-time process data

  • Recording of operating and machine data

  • Automated reports

  • Data import/export

  • Remote operation

Tip

For an overview and detailed descriptions of all functions, see AnyViz.

Tip

In a Data Analyzer project, also arrays and structures of a symbol configuration of a CODESYS project can be visualized.

Creating a Data Analyzer project in the CODESYS Automation Server

Requirements

  • A CODESYS project with a symbol configuration has been transmitted to the Automation Server and is installed on the PLC.

  • The PLC is running.

  1. In the Automation Server, on title bar, click _cas_icon_application.png and then click Analysis.

    The Data Analyzer opens.

  2. On the title bar, click _cas_icon_project.png and then click New Project.

  3. In the Create new project dialog, type in the Project name for the new analyzer project and click OK.

The project name is displayed on the title bar next to the _cas_icon_project.png symbol.

  4. Info: When you click _cas_icon_project.png<project name> and then click Project settings & service plan, the Project Settings dialog opens. This dialog is used to select the service plan and display the service plan information.

  5. In the left column of the Data Analyzer, click _cas_icon_cloud_adapter.png.

  6. Click Link PLC.

    The List View opens.

  7. Click the _cas_icon_details.png button for the PLC that you want to create a project in the Data Analyzer.

    The PLC Details view opens.

  8. Open the Analyzer Projects tab.

All analyzer projects which can be linked or are already linked to this PLC are displayed.

  9. Select (_cas_icon_activated_option.png) the analyzer project which you have created in Step 3 and click the Save button.

The message Operation successful is displayed.

Now the PLC is linked to the analyzer project.

  10. On this tab, click the name of the analyzer project to switch to the Data Analyzer.

Alternatively, you could also click _cas_icon_application.png in the title bar and then click Analysis.

In the Data Analyzer, on the title bar next to the _cas_icon_project.png symbol of the name of the project of the PLC, it is displayed that you have saved as an analyzer project in the previous step.

Your PLC is displayed in the left column of the Data Analyzer. The color of the column next to the PLC indicates whether or not the PLC is running (green: PLC running; red: PLC not running).

  11. Click the name of the PLC.

Below the PLC, the variables are displayed which you have selected as symbols in the CODESYS Automation Server project in the symbol configuration.

Now you can configure your Data Analyzer project and visualize the PLC data.

For all information about this, the interface of the Data Analyzer, as well as the layout and configuration of your project, see AnyViz.
