Dialog: Options: Composer

This subdialog of the CODESYS options dialog provides different tabs for the CODESYS Application Composer settings.

Tab: General

Table 1. General

Show toplevel selection before generation

standard icon: You can click Composer → Generate to open a dialog for selecting the toplevel modules. You can reduce the time for generating the application by deselecting modules that do not change anymore.



Table 2. Editors

Parameter editor type

Display of the Parameters on the Parameters tab (module editor).

  • Tree view: The parameter groups are shown in the editor as a tree structure.

  • Tab view: The parameter groups are shown in the editor as single tabs.



Table 3. Scan

Automatic scan (saved with project)

standard icon: The CODESYS Application Composer automatically searches for existing modules and module instances when a new library is inserted into the POU view.

_cds_icon_option_deactivated.png: The CODESYS Application Composer searches for existing modules and module instances only in the following cases:

  • After opening the project

  • After inserting a module instance in the module tree if a search was not performed

Note: This setting is saved with the project.

The URLs in this list can be displayed on the Information tab of the module editor. Requirement: The URL is defined in the section MetaData of the module declaration.

standard icon: The respective element is shown in the step of the sequence editor.



Table 5. Display

Step width

standard icon: Width of the tab header (in pixels)

Valid values: 25–500.

Step distance (vert.)

Distance between the sequence steps (in pixels)

Valid values: 10–100

Std. connection

A connection

B connection

Colors of the connecting lines between the sequence steps

The colors of A connection and B connection are used after a branch step.

Text font

The button opens the default dialog for setting the font for text in the editor.

Link font

The button opens the default dialog for setting the font for labeling links.
