Command: Assisted Positioning
When inserting and moving an element (with the mouse), you can select the position freely or use assistance.
Tip
You can use multiple selection to position multiple elements synchronously.
Tip
Alternatively, you could also use the arrow keys to move a selected element. Regardless of which support is currently selected. This can be the method of choice, especially for pixel-precise movements.
Command: No Assistance
Symbol:
Function: Enables the free positioning of elements

When inserting and moving, the element can be positioned freely.
Command: Snaplines
Symbol:
Function: Enables positioning assistance with snaplines
Call: Context menu
When inserting and moving elements, lines are shown which indicate where positions exist that match the positions of adjacent elements. In addition, lines are shown which subdivide the visualization editor into a grid.
This allows you to align elements with adjacent elements or arrange them in a fixed column and row layout.
Tip
You can adapt the command in the Options: Visualization dialog. The minimum distance between elements and to the border is adjustable. You can also define a grid to easily align elements in a column and row layout.
Tip
If you press the Alt key while moving with the mouse, the support with snaplines is suppressed. No lines are displayed.
Command: Grid
Symbol:
Function: Enables positioning along the displayed grid
Call: Context menu
When the grid function is enabled, the element is automatically set to a grid point when it is inserted and moved. The element is aligned with the grid.
Tip
You can adapt the command in the Options: Visualization dialog. The grid size is adjustable. In addition, the grid function can be disabled. This causes only the grid points to be displayed. However, the element can be positioned freely.
