Command: Insert Box

Function: The command inserts a box in the Safety FBD Editor (see: FB calls).

On executing the command, the Input Assistant is opened and the user can select the desired function block or operator from the categories listed below. The selection must be confirmed with the OK button.

Conversion operators
The insertion position in the network depends on the cursor position where the command is executed.
Empty network: For the inputs of the box, the initial operands are generated automatically with empty contents.
Assignment to the root of the network: The new box is inserted between the ingoing signal flow and the assignment target.
Position so that a link is created between two boxes with safe inputs or outputs: The first SAFE inputs or SAFE outputs are always automatically linked to one another.
Main output of another box: The first input of the new box is connected to the main output of the existing box, while the other inputs are given an empty text with initial operands. Note: A box can be inserted at the main output of a box only.
Input of a box: The new box is inserted between the ingoing signal flow and the input of the existing box.
The inputs and outputs of a box that represent a function block call can be deleted with the Delete command in the context menu.
