Command: Extract Archive

function: The command extracts a repository created using the command Save/send archive was created. Before that, you need to configure what contents of the archive should be extracted and to which directories in the file system they should be copied.

Call: File → Project Archive menu

By default, an archive has the .projectarchive file extension.

After you select the archive, the Extract Project Archive dialog opens where you configure the extraction.

The dialog shows the contents of the project archive. You can deselect standard icon entire categories or single objects from categories to exclude them from the extraction.

Caution

If the project archive contains a Git project and Git repository information, then make sure that the repository information is also extracted. Otherwise, there may be unwanted effects when the extracted Git project is linked to a repository with the same name as a directory which already exists locally.

Extract into the same folder where the archive is located

The archive is extracted to the same directory.

Extract into the following folder

The contents of the archive are extracted to the specified path.

Advanced

Opens the Advanced dialog where you define where special and additional files from the archive are extracted.

Objects

Displays the contents of the archive, structured in object categories

standard icon: The object will be extracted.

_cds_icon_option_deactivated.png: The object will not be extracted.

Comment which was entered when the project archive was created



Extract

If an extracted file has the same name as an existing file in the target directory, then a dialog opens, prompting whether or not the local file should be replaced. The decision can be applied automatically to any other conflicted names. In this case, you have to select the projectarchive_isactivated.pngApply to all objects and files option.

By default, "additional files" are preconfigured with Do not extract. You can change this by selecting entries in the table and selecting one of the following options:

Extract into project folder

Directory of the project file

Extract into folder

Custom directory

Do not extract

Default setting
