Command: Save/Send Archive

Function: The command opens the Project Archive dialog for the configuration of project archives.

Call: File → Project Archive menu

An archive file (*.projectarchive) contains all files which are contained and referenced in the project which is currently open. It can either be saved or sent as an email attachment. Sending as an email is very helpful for providing all project-relevant files to a colleague. The file can be simply unpacked again by means of the Extract Archive command.

Important

The archiving function is intended for the simple summarization of all project-relevant files, not for storing a project.

Dialog: Project Archive

The dialog displays all of the categories which can be added to the project archive. In this dialog, you can select entire categories or individual objects from the categories can be added to the project archive.

Tip

Entries display as red in the list require your attention. Hover the mouse pointer over this library for more information.

Additional Files	Opens the Additional Files dialog There you can use the Add button to add more files.
Comment	Opens the 'Comment' dialog There you can add comments to the archive.
Save	Creates the archive file and saves it The location and the archive name are specified in the subsequent dialog.
Send	Creates a temporary archive file which is attached to an empty email A correct installation of the MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface) is required for the successful execution of this operation. Any failure is documented by displaying a corresponding error message. The temporary archive is automatically deleted after sending the e-mail.
