Starting the Runtime System

Note: A valid license has to be installed on your PC to operate the runtime system. If not, then the controller starts in the fully functional, but time-limited demo mode.

Tip

In the case of the runtime systems, these are device licenses. You activate these licenses in the License Manager.

  1. Click the Tools → Deploy Control SL command.

    The Deploy Control SL tabs open.

  2. Select the Operation tab and select the desired entry. You can select only one entry.

  3. Click the Start Selected command.

    The controller is started and the lists are refreshed to show the new status.

Tip

To include a gateway instance in the CODESYS Automation Server, the gateway instance can be started in maintenance mode.

If you have correctly configured the instances of CODESYS Virtual Control for Linux SL, then you can now connect to this instance. For more information, see: Establishing a Connection to an Instance.
