Command: Reset Text of Top-Level Tabs

Function: This command resets the texts to the default settings for the toplevel tabs that were defined in the module editors in the HMI tab. Clicking Composer → Reset text of toplevel tabs → All resets the texts of all toplevel tabs. Clicking Composer → Reset text of toplevel tabs → Selected only resets only the text of the selected module (in the Modules view). Click Composer → Create to update the application.

Requirement: Modules with special configured text for the toplevel tabs are present in the Modules view.

Example 12. Example for a module

The following steps describe how to set and reset the text for a toplevel tab.

You project includes the Building module.

  1. Double-click the Building module in the Modules view.

    The module editor (module configurator) opens.

  2. Activate the option Create toplevel tab.

    Then an input field appears with the preset toplevel text Building.

  3. Specify the text City hall.

  4. Click Composer → Create.

    The module visualizations and the Toplevel visualization are created and stored in the Devices view.

  5. Double-click the Toplevel visualization in the Devices view.

  6. Save the project.

  7. Double-click the Building module in the Modules view.

    The commands of the Composer menu are available.

  8. Select the Building module.

  9. Click Composer → Reset text of toplevel tabs → Selected only.

    The text is reset to the default setting Building in the module editor in the input field next to the Create toplevel tab option.

  10. Click Composer → Create.

    The module visualizations and the Toplevel visualization are updated and stored in the Devices view.

  11. Open the Toplevel visualization in the Devices view.

Example 13. Example for a submodule

The following steps describe how to set and reset the text for toplevel tabs within a module structure of modules and submodules.

Your project includes the Building module and the Bathroom submodule.

  1. Double-click the Building module in the Modules view.

    The module editor (module configurator) opens.

  2. Activate the option Create toplevel tab.

    Then an input field appears with the preset toplevel text Building.

  3. Specify the text City hall.

  4. Double-click the Bathroom module in the Modules view.

    The module editor (module configurator) opens.

  5. Activate the option Create toplevel tab.

    Then an input field appears with the preset toplevel text Building.Bathroom.

  6. Specify the text WC.

  7. Click Composer → Create.

    The module visualizations and the Toplevel visualization are created and stored in the Devices view.

  8. Double-click the Toplevel visualization in the Devices view.

  9. Save the project.

  10. Double-click the Building module in the Modules view.

    The commands of the Composer menu are available.

  11. Select the Building module.

  12. Click Composer → Reset text of toplevel tabs → All.

  13. Click Composer → Create.

    The module visualizations and the Toplevel visualization are updated and stored in the Devices view.

  14. Open the Toplevel visualization in the Devices view.
