Axis Group Editor

Symbol: _sm_icon_axis_group.png

In the editor of the Axis group object, select the type of basic kinematics and orientation kinematics. Orientation kinematics can be selected only when it is supported by the basic kinematics. In addition, you map the axes of the kinematics to the drives in your project.

Table 73. Kinematics

Select kinematics

Change kinematics

Opens a list of all kinematics which are supported by CODESYS

When you select a type of kinematics, a short description is shown in the frame to the right of the list.

After you select a type of kinematics, you can modify the respective parameters in the editor.

Depending on the selected kinematics, you map the axes of the kinematics to the drives in your project.

Bus cycle task

Bus cycle task of the axes, if axes are already mapped

The setting cannot be changed here.

Planning task

Task for the planning of CP tasks

A planning task is created automatically when the first axis group is inserted. A watchdog should not be configured because the execution time may fluctuate considerably.

For more information, see: Configuration of the Planning Task

If you delete this task, then an error is issued to the message view. To create a new task, click Project → Create planning task.
