Command: Update FW

Call: Button on the Safety Online Information tab of the safety controller

Requirements: The command It can only be actuated if the Refresh command (button on the Safety Online Information tab) has been executed at least once. Authorization with the admin password is required in order to execute the command.

The firmware on the safety controller can be exchanged by means of Update FW.

The new firmware is loaded from a file to the safety controller and the previous firmware of the safety controller is replaced.

Whether a firmware update is available and precisely how this is to be performed depends on the safety controller employed.

On activating the command, the user will be informed of the execution of the firmware update, depending on the respective firmware.

After successful transmission of the new firmware, this is indicated in the dialog window and must be confirmed by the user by clicking OK. The new firmware is activated at the next restart of the controller.

If the new firmware is not compatible with the current boot application on the controller, then the user must decide whether he nevertheless wishes to transfer the new firmware to the controller. In this case the current boot application will not be executed after the start.
