Command: Set admin password

Function: The command opens the Set admin password dialog.

Call: Button in the editor of the safety controller, Safety Online Information tab. The safety controller editor is opened by double-clicking the safety controller in the Devices view.

The safety controller can be protected against unauthorized writing access with the aid of the admin password. Write access to the safety controller (for example, load project) must be confirmed with this password. The initial password or the password after the Reset origin is defined in relation to the manufacturer, for example the empty password.

Tip

When exchanging the PLC, the admin password is transferred to the new controller together with the safety application.

Tip

During the series production of a safety controller with boot application the admin password is also copied, as a consequence of which all series-produced models have the same admin password.
