Security

In order to protect against misuse of the tool and licenses in the best possible way, we recommend that you allow only authorized personnel to access files which require protection. These are the following:

  • Configuration file

  • Context file

  • General log file (CML.log) and the license log (license.log) where you can find the individual licensing steps

  • License files

Make sure that the respective files are protected with the respective user permissions. Only people who need to actively work with these files should have access to them.

After configuration, no additional input is required when operating the CODESYS Mass Licenser. All steps run fully automated. The user only has to allow the connection of the device to be licensed to the respective Windows computer. Direct access to the PC is no longer necessary and is not recommended. The user only needs the information which is displayed on the screen in the console.

Make sure that the computer which is running CODESYS Mass Licenser is on a secure network with Internet access. In this way, points of attack can be prevented and safe usage of the CODESYS Mass Licenser can be ensured.
