Commissioning

When you are finished with the configuration, you can start the CODESYS Mass Licenser by calling the CODESYSMassLicenser.exe file in the C:\Program Files\CODESYS CML directory.

Alternatively, you could also use the command line to call the CODESYS Mass Licenser from any directory. To do this, execute the CODESYSMassLicenser.exe command.

Note

The CODESYS Mass Licenser does not run as a service, but as an independent console program which does not require any additional parameterization. All required parameters are specified in the configuration file.

  1. Start the CODESYS Mass Licenser.

    The CODESYS Mass Licenser performs a scan and filters the detected devices based on the filters specified in the configuration. This scan is performed cyclically.

  2. The CODESYS Mass Licenser works through the detected devices one after the other.

  3. The CODESYS Mass Licenser first creates a temporary user management. This is required in order to license the device.

  4. The CODESYS Mass Licenser checks whether or not the specified licenses already exist on the device. If not, the licenses are copied to the device. Otherwise, the device is tagged as ready licensed.

  5. The CODESYS Mass Licenser deletes the temporary user management.

  6. Use the test licenses for a test run and for validating the flow.

    These test licenses give you the opportunity to test your configuration before working with the actual licenses.

    Note: You can download test licenses free of charge from the Store.

  7. Purchase the respective licenses in the CODESYS Store International to replenish licenses for the CODESYS Mass Licenser. You can then paste the licenses you receive by email into the specified text file

  8. Paste the licenses you receive by email into the specified text file.

Important

When storing the license tickets, always make sure to insert them into the correct place and in the correct text file. In the event of incorrect filing, tickets may be used incorrectly.

A license which has been successfully copied to a device is spent and cannot be activated again. Therefore, the ticket is no longer valid.

Important

Do not unplug the devices before the licensing operation has been completed. Basically the CODESYS Mass Licenser can complete the operation when the device is plugged in again. However, for the device which was unplugged before the operation was completed, it cannot be guaranteed that all of the required steps for licensing have been performed and the temporary user management has been deleted.
