Tab: EtherNet/IP Adapter – Assemblies
The top area of the tab shows a list of all configured connections. When a connection is selected, the associated assemblies in the lower area of the tab are displayed.
A description of the columns is found on the "Connections" tab. |
Add | Opens the Add Assembly Parameter dialog. |
Delete | Deletes all selected parameters. |
Move Up Move Down | Moves the selected parameter within the list. The order in the list determines the order in the I/O mapping. |

Dialog: Add Assembly Parameter
The dialog shows the predefined parameters from the device description. These parameters can be used as a template for new assembly parameters and adapted.
Name | Name of the parameter. Used as the name of the I/O channel |
Unit | Unit of the parameter (example: 'Kelvin'). Displayed in the Unit column of the I/O mapping and is used for informational purposes. |
Help string | Help text about the parameter. Displayed in the Help String column of the I/O mapping and is used for informational purposes. |
Data type | Data type of the parameter. Corresponds to the data type of the I/O channel |
Bit length | Bit length of the parameter in the assembly. The bit length is normally the length of the data type (in bits). If the bit length is less than the length of the data type, then the parameter is truncated accordingly when transmitted. As a result, this can lead to data loss because parts of the parameter are cut off. If the bit length is greater than the length of the data type, then the parameter is appended at the end with filling bits. |
Count | Number of parameters that should be inserted into the assembly. |
