Tab: EtherNet/IP Scanner NetX – General

The tab in the configurator of the EtherNet/IP Scanner contains the basic settings for communication in the network.

Table 4. Address Settings

Use static IP address

IP address

Subnet mask

Gateway address

These entries each occupy four bytes and are used to identify the EtherNet/IP scanner within the network environment.

Obtain IP address automatically

The option is available only for the EtherNet/IP scanner.

BOOTP

Assignment of the IP address by a server using Bootstrap Protocol (BOOTP)

DHCP

Automatic configuration of the network settings by the host using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

Table 5. Ethernet Settings

Speed and duplex

Bit rate of the transmission. With Auto-negotiation, the highest available bit rate is automatically selected.

Table 6. Options

Auto-reestablish connections

standard icon: The EtherNet/IP scanner always attempts to automatically re-establish an interrupted connection.

For example, if a timeout is detected for UDP I/O messages or if the TCP connection to the adapter is interrupted. If the option is enabled, then the EtherNet/IP scanner reconnects to the adapters to which it has lost the connection.

Table 7. Watchdog

Enable

standard icon: Activates the watchdog for the EtherNet/IP scanner. If the NetX firmware is not set within the given watchdog time (for example, in the case of an exception error in the application), then NetX firmware is reset. The connection is aborted and the adapter switches to its substitute values.

The defaults for the watchdog originate from the device description.

Time (e.g. t#200ms)

Watchdog time

Defines the watchdog for the EtherNet/IP scanner.

The watchdog time is configured in milliseconds (ms).
