Tab: EtherNet/IP Module – Assemblies

Important

This dialog is available as of version 4.1.0.0.

The tab provides the option of selecting input and output assemblies from the head station and defining their I/O layout.

Table 22. Output Assembly, Input Assembly

Add

Opens the Add Assembly Parameter dialog.

Delete

Deletes all selected parameters.

Move Up

Move Down

Moves the selected parameter within the list. The order in the list determines the order in the I/O mapping.

Name

Bit length

Help string

Unit

You can double-click in the text field to edit the values.

Dialog: Add Assembly Parameter

Name

Name of the parameter. Used as the name of the I/O channel

Unit

Unit of the parameter (example: 'Kelvin'). Displayed in the Unit column of the I/O mapping and is used for informational purposes.

Help string

Help text about the parameter. Displayed in the Help String column of the I/O mapping and is used for informational purposes.

Data type

Data type of the parameter. Corresponds to the data type of the I/O channel

Bit length

Bit length of the parameter in the assembly

The bit length is normally the length of the data type (in bits).

If the bit length is less than the length of the data type, then the parameter is truncated accordingly when transmitted. As a result, this can lead to data loss because parts of the parameter are cut off. If the bit length is greater than the length of the data type, then the parameter is appended at the end with filling bits.

Count

Number of parameters that should be inserted into the assembly.
