Installing and Uninstalling a Package
Using CODESYS Installer (default)
If the CODESYS Installer is installed on your computer, then it will be used for installing and uninstalling packages and add-ons. For example, in this case it is also started by the Project Inspection Wizard, if necessary.
For more information about the installer, see: CODESYS Installer
When objects are added to the project which require more add-on installations, CODESYS responds as follows:
A corresponding message is displayed in the message view in the Required Add-ons message category.
A yellow-highlighted field with the text <n> missing add-on(s) is displayed in the status bar. Double-clicking this field opens the Required Add-onsdialog, which lists the missing add-ons. You can select packages for post-installation and press the Install button to start the CODESYS Installer.
Using the Package Manager if the CODESYS Installer is not available
If the CODESYS Installer is not installed on your computer, then the Package Manager is directly available. For this, see the following instructions:
Requirement: You have selected the Tools → Package Manager command. The Package Manager dialog is open.
Click Install.
In the Open dialog, select a package from the file directory and click Open.
The Check package signatures dialog opens.
The dialog displays information about whether and how the selected package is signed. For more information about signing the package, see the tooltip. When you double-click a package, a dialog displays even more detailed information about the signing of the package.
If the package is self-signed or unsigned, you have to select the Allow unsigned and self-signed packages option to explicitly allow the installation of that package.
If you agree with the displayed signing, click OK.
The installation wizard opens. In the Installation – License Agreement dialog, CODESYS also displays the Checksum of the package.
When you click Finish in the last dialog of the installation wizard, 1 pending installation(s) is displayed in the lower part of the Package Manager. The package is marked with the
symbol.
The package is now unpacked on your computer and ready for installation.
Close all CODESYS instances.
The Package Manager runs the installation of the package in CODESYS.
If you want to see a summary of the installation before the installation has completed, then click Next in the Installation – Setup Completed dialog. To complete the installation, then click Finish in the Installation – Summary dialog.
If you want to complete the installation without seeing the summary, click Finish in the Installation – Installation Completed dialog.
If the CODESYS Package Designer package is installed and the package that you want to install requires a newer version of the Package Manager, then the installation wizard reports this. You can download the required version of the Package Manager in the CODESYS Store International.
Select the package.
Click Uninstall.
The wizard opens and guides you through the process of uninstalling the package.
When you have clicked Finish in the last dialog of the installation wizard, 1 pending installation(s) is displayed in the lower part of the Package Manager. The package is marked with the
symbol.
Close all CODESYS instances.
The Package Manager runs the uninstallation of the CODESYS package.
In the Uninstallation dialog, click Finish to complete the uninstallation.
