Dialog: Certificate Selection

Symbol: _cds_icon_cert_store_open_no_border.png

Function: The dialog is used to select the certificates for encryption, decryption, and digital signatures.

Call:

  • Security Screen view, User tab

  • View → Properties command, Security tab, when the Application is selected in the device tree

  • Project → Project Settings command, Security category

Dialog: Certificate Selection

The purpose of the certificate which is selected in the dialog depends on the call location:

  • Call location: Security Screen view, User tab

    • Certificate for digital signatures

    • Certificate for the decryption of project files

    • Encrypted communication certificate

  • Call location: View → Properties of the application

    • Certificates of devices which share the encrypted download and the boot application

  • Call location: Project → Project Settings, Security category

    • Certificate for project encryption

Listing of the selected certificates in a table

The following properties are displayed for each selected X.509 certificate:

  • Issued for

  • Issued by

  • Valid from

  • Valid until

  • Thumbprint: SHA1 fingerprint

Double-clicking an entry opens the Certificate dialog with the General tab, Details tab, and Certification Path tab. In the tab, you will find a reference to Windows help with more information about the dialog.

Adds the selected available certificate to the list of selected certificates

Deletes the certificate selected in the list

Certificate icons

  • _cds_icon_certificate.png

  • _cds_icon_cert_private_key.png: Certificate with a private key

  • _cds_icon_cert_untrusted.png: Untrusted certificate
