Dialog: Project Inspection
If the CODESYS project which you want to edit is not suitable to be loaded with your current installation, then the dialog of the Project Inspection wizard opens. It tells you that the project has been saved with a different CODESYS version and provides options on how to proceed.
Example of an unsuitable installation: The project to be opened contains objects of the UML Statechart implementation language, but the installation does not contain the CODESYS UML add-on.
The wizard runs through the following dialogs:
The project has been saved with a different version <CODESYS version>.
This project is still in a development phase. I want to open it in this version and do not mind that different code may be generated. | Clicking Next opens the Project Inspection – Missing add-ons dialog for deciding whether or not add-ons which are missing in the current installation should be added before opening. |
This project has already been deployed on a machine/plant. I want to generate exactly the same code and hence need the possibility to log in without any change. Consequence: A compatible version will be opened or installed if not yet available. | Clicking Next opens the Project Inspection – Selection dialog for switching to another installation. |
Details The button is only available if the project was saved with CODESYS version 3.5.19.0 or higher. | Opens the Differences dialog. Here you see which add-ons were installed when you saved the project and whether and how they are available in the current installation. |
The project contains objects for which no suitable add-on is installed
Install missing add-ons for this version and reboot. | Click Next display the Project Inspection – Add-Ons dialog for configuring the installation of additional add-ons. |
Continue anyway. The objects cannot be changed. | Clicking Finish will open the project in the current installation. Restrictions:
|
Extending the current installation by the following add-ons. | The displayed missing required add-ons and the explicitly selected optional add-ons are installed after clicking Finish to confirm. To do this, close the CODESYS Development System and start the installer. |
Required Add-On, Status | Names, versions, and status of required add-ons Possible statuses:
|
Optional Add-On, Status | Names and versions of optional add-ons. These are add-ons which are not absolutely needed by the project, but were available when it was saved. |
The dialog opens when the option to open the project in a compatible CODESYS version was selected in Project Inspection – Overview. Here you select a different, project-compatible installation.
Use another installation | List of suitable installations found on the computer. After an installation is selected, clicking Finish will close the current instance of CODESYS Development System and open the project in the new compatible version. |
Download and setup a new installation | Clicking Next will open the Project Inspection – Add-Ons dialog. It shows the required and optional add-ons which are included or can be added in the new installation which is being created. Clicking "Finish" will close CODESYS Development System and start CODESYS Installer. It executes the download and the new installation. |
