Menus in the System Tray

CODESYS Control

Access to the user interface of CODESYS Control Win is granted to you by means of the _cds_icon_winv3_stopped.png symbol in the system tray ("Systray") of your PC.

Right-click the _cds_icon_winv3_stopped.png symbol to open a menu with the following commands:

  • Start PLC: Switches on the PLC. The symbol in the status bar changes to _cds_icon_winv3_running.png.

    Note: If the PLC should automatically be switched on when the system is started, then you have to set the corresponding start option in the properties of the service. For more information, see the help page "Installation and Getting Started".

  • Stop PLC: Switches off the PLC. The symbol changes to _cds_icon_winv3_stopped.png.

  • Exit PLC Control: Ends the availability of the user menu in the system tray. The symbol is removed, but the PLC continues running. The executable file responsible for the displaying the system tray is CODESYSControlSysTray.exe. It is located in the installation directory in the subdirectory GatewayPLC of CODESYS Control Win.

CODESYS Control RTE

Access to the user interface of CODESYS Control RTE is granted to you by means of the symbol in the system tray ("Systray") of your PC.

Right-click the _cds_icon_rtev3_systray_stopped.png symbol to open a menu with the following commands:

  • Start PLC: Switches on the PLC. The symbol changes to _cds_icon_rtev3_systray_running.png.

  • Stop PLC: Switches off the PLC. The symbol changes to _cds_icon_rtev3_systray_stopped.png.

  • Exit PLC Control: Control of the CODESYS Control RTE by means of the system tray is no longer possible. The symbol is removed, but the PLC continues running.

  • PLC Configuration: Opens the System Configuration dialog. Different tabs include diagnostic information and the configuration settings of CODESYS Control RTE.

  • Remote PLC: Opens the Remote Configuration dialog. By enabling or disabling the Control remote PC, not local option, you determine whether a PLC is used that is on a remote or local PC. Accordingly, the menu commands Start PLC, Stop PLC, and PLC Configuration refer to the local PC or a PC reached on the network. For the remote PC, specify the Target PC address, Port number, and a Timeout value (in ms) for the connection (Remote Timeout [ms]).
