Command: Storage → Set

Shortcut: S

Function: The command extends the selected element to include the Set functionality. This is possible with a coil, but also with certain block outputs and outputs.

As soon as the input signal becomes TRUE, this state will be saved. The value remains TRUE until it is reset by an element with Reset functionality (R) assigned to the same variable.

Whether or not the value persists through a controller restart or a power failure depends on the variable being configured as remanent (RETAIN or PERSISTENT).

Requirement: A valid element is selected.
