Transitioning from Python 2 to Python 3
With Python version 3, Python developers introduced some incompatible changes and removed some obsolete functionalities. At this time, the Python community is still in the transitional phase from version 2 to version 3.
IronPython does not yet support Python 3, but it is being worked on. As the Python community no longer supports Python 2, we intend to up0grade to Python 3 as soon as it is supported by IronPython.
Although we strive for a smooth transition, script writers should take care that their scripts are created in a future-proof style. For example, by using the expression from __future__ import print_function
.
