Command: Insert Variable Declaration

Call:

  • Edit menu

  • Context menu in the variable declaration editor

Requirement: The variable declaration editor is in focus.

Procedure. Auto Declare
  1. In the variable declaration editor, open the context menu.

  2. In the context menu, click Insert Variable Declaration.

  3. In the Declare Safety variable dialog, edit or select the fields Scope, Name, Type, Initial value, and optionally Comment.

    The _cds_icon_three_dots.png button opens the Input Assistant for the selection of the data type from the User-defined types and Safety standard types.

  4. Click the OK button.

In order to insert a new declaration line above an existing line, the line above which the declaration is to be inserted is selected and the Insert Variable Declaration command is executed. In order to add a new declaration at the end of the table, the cursor must be below the last line when activating the command.
