Command: Merge two objects

Function: Two objects of the same type selected in the project navigator can be merged.

Call: Context menu, if the objects are selected in the project navigator

Requirement: The objects have to be of the same type. For example, a function block cannot be merged with a task configuration.

The command opens the Merge <object1> in <object2> view. This largely corresponds to the view which is also used to compare objects. There you can explicitly define which contents should be applied from the merge source (left window) to the merge destination (right window).

To reverse the direction of the merge, use the Switch Objects button. Accordingly, the displayed contents of the two objects alternate between the left and right windows.

Note

Merging takes into account only the objects shown here in the view. Their children or properties are not merged or changed.
