Inserting an EtherNet/IP Scanner

  1. Create a new project with the CODESYS Control Win controller.

  2. In the device tree, select the CODESYS Control Win controller.

  3. In the context menu, click Add Device.

    The Add Device dialog opens.

  4. In the device selection, select the Ethernet device. This can be found under the EtherNet/IPEthernet Adapter nodes.

  5. Click the Add Device button.

    The device is inserted below the CODESYS Control Win in the device tree.

  6. In the device tree, select the Ethernet device and add the EtherNet/IP Scanner device below it.

    The EtherNet/IP Scanner is added to the device tree below the Ethernet Adapter. In addition, the ENIPScannerIOTask and ENIPScannerServiceTask tasks are added to the Task Configuration.

  7. In the device tree, select the EtherNet/IP Scanner and add the remote adapters used below it.

    Tip

    For the devices which you use to be displayed in the Add Device dialog, you first need to install the EDS device descriptions from the manufacturer in the device repository.

  8. Click Add Device to close the dialog.

  9. In the device tree, double-click the device to open the settings of the remote adapter.

  10. Configure the adapter settings.

    For example: IP address or Connections

Tip

A generic remote adapter is included in the standard installation of CODESYS Development System. This remote adapter is not preconfigured and should only be used by advanced users.
