Function: Inserts a new output at the insert position

Call: Context menu in the LD editor

Requirement: A valid insert position is selected.

In the element bar, click the symbol. Then drag the cursor to the editor in order to display the possible insert positions. Drag the cursor to the desired insert position. When the insert position is valid, the cursor will show a plus sign. Release the mouse button there. Alternatively, you could also first click the symbol and then click the desired insert symbol in the editor. 

The output assigns the signal coming from the left to the linked variable. It has an input pin coming from the left.

The element supports any data type. While contacts and coils operate exclusively with Boolean signals, this element can also have variables of other data types if its input is connected to a block output. However, the current path itself always processes a Boolean signal.

Negation and edge detection can be enabled at the element input. This allows the input signal to be inverted before further processing or evaluated for positive or negative signal edges.
